The Product

• Simulates chest compressions during CPR training over the life of the device and lasts at least 1 million cycles

Tool Operation ​

• Rate of compression set to match the speed of a typical CPR compression
• Data sent with each compression to a laptop via USB
• Integrity of the microswitch, accelerometer, and gyroscope captured continuously in case of a power failure
• Utilized low cost ball screw with DC motor and encoder feedback
• Operator loads CPR device onto platform and screws it into place.  USB cable is plugged into laptop. Test program is run from laptop that controls and monitors the test
