The Tool 

• The XY Test Tool evaluates the motion control performance of XY stages used in a high-volume biotech instrument. It is utilized at two different client contract manufacturers (CMs): one for outgoing inspection of optics installed on the stage, and one for incoming inspection at final instrument assembly.​

Tool Operation 

• Simplexity designed this highly accurate tool to measure:​
  •  Repeatability within +/- 10 um over 3 seconds.​
  • Accuracy within 25 um.​
  • Rotational accuracy, tilt, skew, commanded position error, and home position repeatability.  An additional tool measures step and settle parameters. ​
• System includes laser micrometers and capacitive displacement sensors ​
• Output data is uploaded to a SQL database for remote access by client engineering team.
