Collaboration
With four offices along the West Coast, Simplexity® Product Development knows about the power of collaboration. It’s common for our teams to be distributed across two or more sites, requiring extra attention to communicate. We work together using a suite of online tools, such as Confluence and Jira team collaboration software, Smartsheet for shared BOM and Gantt chart management, and shared file repositories. Videoconferencing and screen sharing is an essential part of daily work.
The systems and tools we have in place to collaborate between our offices extend to collaboration with our clients as well. By default, we give client teams access to the project Confluence page, which acts as up-to-date documentation for requirements, specifications, meeting notes, and shared files. Due to the multi-site nature of our work, weekly client meetings and design reviews often involve video conferencing.
A focus on collaboration is all part of our tried-and-true project management process. Simplexity believes collaboration is the key to successful product development. Every successful product starts with a teamwork-first philosophy – and timely communication is critical in this regard.
Project execution with Simplexity begins with defining roles and responsibilities, both internally on the Simplexity team and with members of the client’s team. Every week, we conduct project team conference calls, keep budget on track, manage schedule tweaks and project milestones, analyze potential risks, and much more. Every aspect of your project, from initial concept through release to manufacturing, is built around collaboration.
Simplexity’s operational infrastructure is based on the premise of efficient, goal-oriented development – internally within our own organization and externally with our clients. Check out our engineering case studies, and our collaborative approach is evident with every client we’ve worked with and every product we’ve helped launch. This collaborative foundation extends into our New Product Introduction (NPI) process, which stresses fluid communication between R&D, quality, engineering, and contract manufacturing.
The modern workplace demands constant collaboration to maintain project schedules, meet development milestones, and optimize limited resources.
